The offices of Orthopaedic Surgeons of L.I., Assoc. and the Department of Physical Medicine and Sports Therapy offer patients a wide spectrum of care.  Our orthopaedic office consists of board-certified orthopaedic surgeons with expertise and years of experience in the management of General Orthopaedic Practice, Neck and Back Care, Fracture Treatment, Hand and Foot Problems, Arthritic Conditions, Joint Replacement and Reconstructive Surgery, Sports Medicine and Surgery, and Pediatric Orthopaedics.

Patients are routinely scheduled for orthopaedic office visits by appointment Monday through Friday.  Physical therapy is also offered on Saturday mornings.  Understanding the emergent nature of certain conditions and acute injuries, our office staff will often schedule patients on a same-day basis.

Our 7,000 square foot facility encompasses all phases of adult and pediatric orthopaedic care, to include the neck and spine, upper and lower extremities, and  pelvis.  Following an initial orthopaedic consultation and physical examination, routine X-ray imaging is available on site, as well as a new state-of-the-art Open MRI Scanner for extremity visualization. A DEXA Bone Densitometer is also an integral part of our routine office diagnostic imaging for evaluation of osteoporosis.

In terms of our surgical procedures, our staff has recently added the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing System.

WHAT IS BIRMINGHAM HIP RESURFACING?
An exciting new alternative to total hip replacement is now available in the United States. Used successfully for years around the globe, the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing System has recently been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in the United States. Now, patients suffering from hip pain due to arthritis, dysplasia or avascular necrosis can benefit from its conservative approach to treatment.

A fully equipped Physical Therapy facility is located within our office complex, staffed by licensed physical therapists, assistants, and a sports trainer. Whether the patient requires rehabilitation after arthroscopy or joint reconstruction, care for specific neck or back injuries, or therapeutic management of a fracture, a licensed and certified physical therapist supervises the care of all therapy patients, as well as managing patients with chronic pain conditions and disabilities.
